3 Before Me

Before you contact the instructor or help desk about a problem you are experiencing (accessing the course site, submitting an assignment, etc.) related to the logistics of using the course Web site, try at least 3 things from the list below. (Note: this rule does NOT apply to personal emergencies or questions about the content of the course.) When you contact the instructor or help desk, be able to describe the three things you've already done and the results of your effort to solve the problem.

Try at least 3 things from this list before you seek help:

Read the assignment (again)
Ask another student
Read the syllabus (again)
Refer to the Help section found at the top of your course
Contact the helpdesk services (for login/computer problems)
If you are using one of the institutional labs, contact the lab supervisor
Contact your Internet Service Provider (for access/connection problems)
Read the documentation that came from your Internet Service Provider (for access/connection problems)

Also, check the Frequently Asked Questions area where you may find an answer to you question.
